The 30 Day Challenge that Changed Everything

I’m thinking about doing a dip every day in Sept said MC. Two days later, joined by a brilliant group of fellow dippers we began.

Every single day for the last 30 days we have dipped to raise money for the incredible RNLI.

How did it change everything?

JUST PUT IT OUT THERE

Commit. Put it out there. To start with I felt vulnerable and anxious about it. What would people think? Would anyone sponsor me? Could I really stick to it?

It taught me that sometimes you just have to go with your gut. Catch yourself in the moment that you can be brave. Tell everyone about it. You can sort out the details later.

BE YOU

I knew the challenge would make me feel alive. I’m all about feeling alive. But I didn’t think many other people would be up for it.

It makes me feel emotional to reflect on how much people got behind what we were doing. Those that embraced the challenge and dipped every day or when they could. I learnt that if you do what you love others will follow. Be you. Always. Everything else will fall into place.

LIVE MORE NOW

I have seen more sunrises and sunsets over the last 30 days that I think I’ve seen in my whole life. I have three boys, 6 and under and I run my own business. It’s easy to get caught up in life. By prioritising this challenge I started to live in a way that embraced adventure. Sometimes I had to dip with my littles to make it happen. Sometimes we went before school or in PJs before bedtime. Live your life now, don’t wait for some undetermined time in the future. Show your children and all children what it means to truly live.

KNOW YOURSELF

The dips that I dreaded (and there were only a few) were the ones that I got the most out of. They were the ones that reminded me how determined and strong I am. A comfortable life is great but I choose a life that makes me feel wildly alive.

What will you commit to for 30 days?
